SUMMARY

Our goal was to showcase not only the brand’s promise to capture moments in a way that feels authentic, but also spread awareness about the value of real imagery. The brand story focuses on editorial typography (to bring in the classic and cinematic feel), a minimalistic, sophisticated tone (to bring in the trustworthy and high-value feel), and personal and nostalgic touches (to bring in the collected and life feel).

LOVE NOTE

“I am so thrilled with this whole presentation. Seriously so beautiful, every time I've heard from you I just get more and more excited. I also loved the handwriting aspect as an element. My husband said "that reminds me of grandmas who write on the back of photos after they're developed" and I couldn't agree more.

Thank you SO much! I'm so happy I could scream. I'm loving the way everything has come together (thanks to you!).”

Behind The Design

The editorial, nostalgic typography is a large focus of the brand identity, acting as an ode to that vintage, homey, and timeless feel of your entire brand. “Ellen Gustafson Photography” is set in that nostalgic font style while its accompanying text reading, “Based in Minneapolis, Travel Worldwide” is set in both a slightly more artful/whimsical and then more modern font. “20 / 16” hugs the logo on both ends to provide clients with that knowledge of when the business was founded, grounding the brand with long-time experience. EGP sits at the top as an editorial, yet classic monogram with the letters more elongated to give a slightly more artful feel. There is a dot at the center, differentiating the “EG” and “P”, used to illustrate the couple/family (the subject of the work) and then Ellen (the photographer) creating a whole.
