PROLOGUE
Once upon a time abroad,
Or more specifically, a quiet side road in
Reykjavik, Iceland,
a group of students lied down to wait.
In the dark of night, we stared at the sky and all its mystery, hoping to fall witness to the famous Northern Lights and their ethereal spell.
To catch the stuff of living legends, bright lights, and dancing colors otherwise known as the
Aurora Borealis.

First came a flash of green.
Then a flash of blue.
Like fabric, they wrapped around each other before disappearing back into the darkness.
For a few moments, the total absence of light.
Then all at once,
Every color blazed above us.
There we lied in wonder.
The kind that overwhelms,
The kind that inspires and propels.
More than awe-struck,
We were spellbound.
Moved by the collision of particles and atmosphere, of science and art
Profoundly moved by the collision of particles and atmosphere,
Of science and art visible in the Northern Lights —
Aurora Designed was created in homage to the dazzling phenomenon
with a vision just as bright:

This is a life lived with intention and looked at through the lens of love. From this perspective, everything looks a little rosier, feels a little more profound, and reads a little more romantic.
It’s easy to see from here: the infinite expressions of beauty existing humbly around us, in the richest colors of our days and the cherished rituals of our lives.
I believe it is only when we fall in love with life and its poetic possibilities that our art becomes truly inspired.
